Flights
While the closest and most convenient airport to our venue is Florence Airport (FLR), we also recommend that guests consider flights into Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO), Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), and Pisa International Airport (PSA) when searching for affordable and convenient routes from the United States. Each of these cities has easy rail connections to Florence through Trenitalia and Italo.
International flights often reach their lowest fares approximately 3–6 months before departure, but we recommend beginning your search early and tracking prices over time to find the best options.
Accommodations
We are incredibly grateful that many guests arranged accommodations with us following our pre-save-the-date email. For those who have not yet booked accommodations, we recommend beginning your search as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. Our venue is located in Chianti wine country, a remote but very popular tourist destination, and accommodations can become limited during the summer travel season.
We strongly recommend booking accommodations in the town centers of Greve in Chianti or Panzano, where shuttle transportation to the wedding events will be available. Both towns offer a variety of charming B&Bs, boutique hotels, and Airbnbs. Due to the small size of the region, we are unfortunately unable to reserve a large traditional hotel room block.
Transportation
Our venue is approximately a 45-minute drive from the Florence city center. Because taxis and rideshare services are very limited in this rural region, we strongly recommend that guests either rent a car or arrange shuttle transportation to and from their accommodations in advance.
Public bus service from central Florence is available to both Greve in Chianti and Panzano via the 365A line, which departs from the Florence Fortezza bus hub. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as there are no ticket offices available in those towns.
For guests planning to rent a car, please note that Florence has a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) around much of the historic city center. Vehicles that enter the ZTL without proper authorization are subject to significant fines, including rental cars. We strongly recommend reviewing and pre-mapping your driving routes in advance to avoid accidentally entering restricted areas.
While the city center is highly walkable, traditional taxis and Uber Black services are also generally easy to access and can be a convenient alternative to driving.
Event Shuttles
Shuttle transportation to and from the venue will be provided for guest convenience for all three wedding events. Guests staying at the prearranged accommodations (Castello di Gabbiano, La Pensione, Terre di Baccio, and Fattoria Santo Stefano) will have designated pickup and drop-off times throughout the weekend. A detailed shuttle schedule will be shared closer to the wedding date.
